The Dream and Myth of the Paperless City Link

This was a really interesting read from Matt Stroud about digitizing public records.1 I love books and paper but I also love finding what I need from the comfort of my iPad. We’re not ready for a paperless society and I will be sad if I live to see that day. I love books and paper but it seems unimaginable that future generations will have much affinity for them. I believe we are headed towards a completely digital future. I’m not sure how I feel about that.

  1. I don’t usually link to The Verge. Why would I? Anyone coming here probably has already seen The Verge. I also stopped reading them back when they used shady linking tactics (i.e. end-linking). Good on them for changing that policy and hiring Matt to write meaningful stuff like this article. ↩︎
