On the last episode of the Generational podcast, we covered more than any sane person would want to know about blogging platforms. Bob VanderClay from High90 was our guest and technical expert.
Blogging is alive and well. There’s some really cool stuff happening in this area and we’ve reached a point where you can easily deploy, own and administer gorgeous blogs.
Check out the show notes for a mind-boggling list of links.
This week Erik and I were joined by Myke Hurley. We discussed how he built his podcasting empire and then sold out to “the man”. Well, really we talked about his purposeful and accidental decisions that got him to where he is. Myke is an interesting guy and this was an insightful look at someone that wants to love what they do.
I was fortunate enough to have Aaron Hillegass on the last episode of Generational. Big Nerd Ranch is the premiere iOS and Objective C training group and Aaron provides some insight into how they think about teaching.
This week I was joined by Erik Hess from High 90. We talked a lot about the principles of design and he schooled me on the history of fighter jets. It was an enlightening discussion for me.
This week’s episode of Generational is out and I talk with Jason Permenter about big scary career changes. Jason and I both used to be scientists and now do something completely different. It was a good therapy session for me.
The latest episode of the Generational podcast sees the return of Rob Agcaoili of Gridwriter and Jeff Hunsberger of Technology Notes. We wrapped up our discussion about practical task management by focusing on the inbox, review and a few apps. This was a marathon wrap-up to this three part series and it felt good to get a lot of things out there for discussion.
The latest Generational episode is out.
I had a very interesting conversation with Seth Brown and Matt Might about RSI prevention and the challenge of adapting to a new keyboard. I have a great deal of respect for these guys and the fact they both have similar opinions about keyboards is making me reevaluate my setup.
I had a really interesting conversation with Adam Engst of TidBITS fame about digital writing, editing and publishing. It was great to get the perspective from someone that wears all three hats at a digital book publisher.
I had a wonderful time talking to the enigmatic Dr. Drang how we think, solve problems, and raise kids. I mean just look at these show notes:

Hey, if you want to hear a bunch of the show hosts from 70Decibels all on one episode, then check out the new Golden Headphone Awards. I think Mike is trying to boost his listener count for ⌘+Space, but I guess that’s his prerogative.
Anyway, Generational won an award and I chose to reveal some future show topics as part of my acceptance speech. Enjoy.
