Yes, I got a new iMac Pro. Yes, we continue to make the Nerds on Draft podcast. Those two intersect in our latest episode.

With the latest Nerds on Draft Jeff and I talk about our hobbies and somehow dig into the Daniel Suarez book Change Agent.

This week’s Nerds on Draft welcomes our first guest and of course that person is my old Technical Difficulties co-host Erik Hess. Erik talks about how he built a daddy-bot as a way to connect with his family while deployed overseas for a year. We all had a few different beverages and some fun discussions.

On last week’s episode of Nerds on Draft (recorded in October) Jeff and I discuss what we like and don’t like about iOS 10 and our new iPhones. We’ve had quite a bit of time to adjust to the new features and there are some great new ways to get at information in iOS 10. The iPhone 7 Plus is my new primary computer and Jeff is still rolling with different iPhone sizes.

Episode 65 of Nerds on Draft is freshly canned and includes one of the best IPAs I’ve ever had and a bunch of discuss about task managers (again). Jeff and I check in on how it’s going with 2Do for iOS and Mac and talk about rough edges and favorite features.

My cohost is cruising for a new task manager so we discuss 2Do for Mac and iOS on the latest Nerds on Draft episode. We share a bunch of tips for using the app but also discuss general principles of managing information. We also drink a terrific Agave and Grapefruit IPA.

On episode 57 of Nerds on Draft Jeff and I discussed how we get news in the absence of our beloved Zite. We also drowned our sorrows with a delicious Bitches Brew from Dogfish Head.

I’ve been using You Need a Budget (YNAB) for over a year and I’ve been very happy with it. The YNAB implementation is unique in the finance management software market but it’s based on a simple model called “envelope budgeting.” YNAB preaches “give every dollar a job” and the desktop app does a good job encouraging proper budgeting. I’ve discussed this at length on Nerds on Draft episode 19. This week they released YNAB 5 and it’s clearly not aimed at me.

This Nerds on Draft episode may cost you some money. Jeff and I talked about gift ideas based on stuff we like. The list has everything from a cedar oil to a nice new mouse. Most of it is from Amazon so you still have time to get it before the holidays end.

The latest Nerds on Draft is out. We go against our better judgement and drink a pumpkin beer and talk about photography.
