Nearly an hour and half about iOS Automation and one of the best Saisons around? What’s not to like about the latest Nerds on Draft? iOS 8.3 has really improved the toolchain for many people, but the quality of the apps are still what keeps me enthralled with the platform. More than ever before, there are terrific ways to automate even the most rudimentary tasks on iOS. Except, listening to this podcast.
On the latest Nerds on Draft, we talk about a beer inspired by a toxic river fire and how we’ve changed our sleep patterns throughout our life. I really miss late night sidetracks but I also really love the early morning quiet time. Kids ruin everything in the best way. When it comes down to it, late nights were always about screwing around and early mornings are always about getting focused work done.
Given enough time and/or beer I’m likely to talk about task management. That’s exactly what happened in the latest Nerds on Draft episode.
I happen to manage projects for a living so I spend a lot of time putting things in lists and then removing them from lists. I’ve used a lot of different systems (or at least gave them a fair shot). But, you may have noticed a drop in the number of Macdrifter articles in the past year about project and task management.
I think the last two episodes compliment each other nicely. This week Jeff and I talked about owning a home and the poor thought that usually goes into that decision. There are many days when I miss renting but there are also some real joys in owning a house too.
We drank a beer named JAWN, which is apparently named after a meaningless word that means everything.
Taking notes is hard enough. Taking notes during meetings can be a real pain. Jeff and I discuss our techniques and shortcomings during the latest episode of Nerds on Draft. We also drink two fantastic and wildly different IPAs. Ever wonder what a good “Lite” beer would be like? We describe it in excrutiating detail.
This week’s episode of Nerds on Draft is pretty long, but for the investment, you get talk of two terrific beers and our thoughts on managing money. If you struggle at all with budgeting, this episode has some tips and will also add to your list of worries.
Oh, and there’s a little bonus surprise at the end if you make it all the way through.
This week’s Nerds on Draft spirals out of control talking about time and money. It’s hard to blame us when we’re drinking a rare treasure like the Four Roses Eclipse Stout from FiftyFifty brewing.
We discuss options for buying back free time and the guilt of spending money for our leisure time. Here’s a bonus zip file containing my notes for the show.
Who do you trust for recommendations about anything? Jeff and I talk about user ratings, recommendations and avoiding buyer’s remorse. We also shared a bunch of our favorite beer-related podcasts, YouTube channels and blogs.
We drank Mastermind by Fiddlehead Brewing and Dark Penance by Founders. It was a very good day.
Do you collect a lot of digital debris? Do you like terrific beer? Then the latest episode of Nerds on Draft might be perfect for you.
Jeff and I talked about how we store and cull our ones and zeros while drinking one of the best Saisons on the market.
On the recent episode (15) of Nerds on Draft Jeff and I crack open a Yang from Evil Twin Brewing and talk about the joy, dread, and guilt of side projects. We’re not fans of using energy levels for scheduling work but we are fans of planning our leisure time.
Check out the show notes for links to Yang. It’s super bitter.
